The trainings for the Sakarya Women’s Cooperatives Support Center Project, accepted within the Social Development Support Program offered by the Sakarya Governorship, will be provided by SUBÜ.

The project, in which Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ) is a partner, is financed by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and implemented by the Eastern Marmara Development Agency (MARKA) under the 2023 Social Development Support Program (SOGEP). The project, presented by the Sakarya Governorship, has officially started. Alongside SUBÜ, the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality and the Union of Women Producers Cooperatives are also partners. The project aims to enhance the institutional capacity of women’s cooperatives and improve the knowledge and skills of their employees through face-to-face training sessions provided by SUBÜ.

Both in-person and digital training
The first meeting of the project, chaired by Deputy Governor Selda Dural, was attended by the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO), the Provincial Directorate of Trade, the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, and Sakarya University (SAÜ) as participants. The training program, coordinated by Arzu Saygıner Çil, Project Development Manager at SUBÜ Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit, and Doç. Dr. Selma Kılıç Kırılmaz from the Faculty of Applied Sciences, will be recorded in SUBÜ Studios for in-person lessons. These lessons will later be published on the project’s digital platforms to contribute to the project’s dissemination efforts. Women working in cooperatives who cannot attend the in-person trainings will be able to access the digital trainings anytime, anywhere.

SUBÜ will provide professional training for members of women’s cooperatives in subjects such as production management, storage, logistics, transportation, quality standards, corporate financial management, marketing, digitalization, environmental protection, project management, innovation, and R&D.
